青少年事工部 Youth Ministry
The Tulsa Chinese Christian Church Youth Ministry can be summed up in our purpose statement, created by the youth group themselves on January 2001:
"The goal of TCCC youth group is to Grow in faith, Reach others for Christ, Adore Him, Care for others, and Encourage each other through fellowship."
These 5 purposes of our youth group are based on the Great Commandment (Matt. 22:37-40) and the Great Commission (Matt. 28: 19-20):
1. GROW IN FAITH
We in the youth group are seeking to grow in maturity in our walk with God and learning to be independently dependent on Him. We takes steps toward that end through our daily devotional life, Friday night Bible studies (A.K.A. "World Changers International"), Sunday school, and taking personal steps of faith in ministry, service, and mission trips.
2. REACH OTHERS FOR CHRIST
We desire to bring God’s message of love and forgiveness to those who don’t know Him or who are unconvinced of His reality. Mission trips, inviting friends to youth activities, making visitors feel welcomed and at ease, living out Christ’s character in our everyday lives, and personally explaining how to know Him are just some of the ways we do that.
3. ADORE HIM
We worship God by celebrating His presence and honoring Him with our all. This is done not only through our songs to Him corporately, but through our daily lifestyle individually.
4. CARE FOR OTHERS
Meeting other people’s needs with love: "You shall love your neighbor as yourself." One example of that in the past was our involvement with Compassion International in sponsoring a child from Rwanda.
5. ENCOURAGING EACH OTHER THROUGH FELLOWSHIP
Our fellowship times with each other (whether parties, weekly meetings, retreats, or informal encounters) are opportunities to know each other better and to encourage one another in our spiritual journey, to care for each other, and hold one another accountable to keep living the life of obedience to Christ.
Our purpose statement spells out the acrostic GRACE which is the power from God that we rely on to accomplish our 5 goals. We pray that we would be a demonstration of God’s grace and that others around us would experience it too.
